Ingredients

  • 2 fluid ounces whiskey
  • ¼ fluid ounce simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Orange peel, for garnish
  • Ice, large cube

How To Make

  • Add simple syrup and bitters to a glass.
  • Add ice and stir to combine.
  • Add whiskey and stir until well chilled.
  • Express the oil of an orange peel by twisting over the glass, then drop into the glass to garnish.

Notes

  • Whiskey - use Bourbon or Rye whiskey
  • Sugar - the traditional recipe muddles 1 sugar cube with bitters and water. We prefer to use simple syrup as it is easier and ensures the sugar is fully dissolved.
